Bucana fire destroys 50 to 60 houses
A second fire broke out on October 16 in Kasilak, Barangay 76-A, Bucana, leaving an estimated 50 to 60 households with destroyed homes.
The BFP received the emergency call at approximately 6 p.m. and raised the fire alarm level as the blaze spread through the residential area. Firefighters responded to contain the fire and prevent further destruction.
No injuries or fatalities were reported in the Bucana incident, based on the initial assessment cited by Mindanao Times.
Fire investigators are continuing to assess the damage and determine the cause of the blaze, as well as the total value of the property destroyed.
Authorities continue fire investigations
The two incidents highlight the risks faced by residents in densely populated residential communities, where fires can quickly spread and damage neighboring homes.
The BFP is conducting follow-up investigations into both incidents to establish their causes and document the full extent of the damage.
Residents are encouraged to observe fire safety precautions, keep electrical connections in good condition, avoid leaving cooking unattended, and ensure that homes have accessible exit routes in case of emergencies.
As authorities continue their investigations, affected families may require assistance and temporary shelter while they recover from the destruction of their homes.
